To celebrate the release of the new book, When Love Ends, Be The Water, Mercury Project is hosting a collaborative exhibit of the works of poet, Rene Villanueva, and artist, Rikkianne Van Kirk; each using their minimalist mediums of poetry and illustration to tell a true story of love, discovery and cultural identity in South Texas. Through a reading of selected works and a chance to see the 15 original illustrations created for the book, the audience will be able to explore how each medium transformed the story and their relation to it. San Antonio's Poet Laureate, Octavio Quintanilla, will provide an introduction to the night, while beer sampling will be provided by Alamo Beer. A Q&A and curated DJ set by Idyll Green will follow the reading. If you are looking for art that speaks from real experience and deals with the here and now, this is the perfect can't-miss night.
